We started our interview section few months back and we took interviews of some of the ideal personalities in technology world. Last interview that we took was of Phil McKinney who is the Vice President and CTO (Chief Technology Officer) for HP’s Personal Systems Group (PSG) .And now, we are going to share information related to the Worldwide PR Manager of Personal Systems Group in Hewlett-Packard Company, her name is Ann Finnie. Let us tell you about her life.

Ann Finnie (Worldwide PR Manager of HP’s Personal Systems Group)

Ann Finnie is a worldwide PR manager for HP’s Personal Systems Group (PSG).

In this role, she is responsible for strategic planning, positing and execution of PR programs for HP consumer PC product lines, including the Compaq Presario, HP Pavilion, HP TouchSmart, and PC displays. In addition, Ann manages PR for the PSG vice president and chief technology officer.

Ann is a 21 year veteran at HP with more than11 years of PR experience in the high tech industry. Her areas of expertise include major product launches, press tours and conference management, tradeshows and events and social media. She led the PR campaigns for the world’s first Windows XP Media Center Edition PC, HP’s first TouchSmart PC, HP’s acquisition of VoodooPC, and the launch of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system across HP’s product portfolios worldwide.

Ann serves as a spokesperson for HP and has been referenced in numerous articles including PR Week’s 10th anniversary issue, CuteGeek’s Brilliant Women in Technology series, and Engadget’s “Who Should I Follow?” Twitter list for laptops and mobile computing (@AFinnie). She has also been invited to speak to marketing classes about the practice of PR at the University of Texas in Austin.

Before joining HP, Ann was an HR manager at Sterling Software, she also worked in the purchasing and technical support departments at Acuson Computed Sonography, and in the show operations department at her local amusement park — Great America.

Ann holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University’s school of business.  She is a U.S. Navy wife and she and her husband reside in San Jose, California.
